Fox guest: Women's March organizer is a “pro-Sharia law Jew-hater” 

Fake news websites and far-right outlets have used similar smears to describe Linda Sarsour

Fox guest Bernard McGuirk falsely claimed that Women's March organizer Linda Sarsour -- a Palestinian-American activist who was born and raised in Brooklyn -- is “a pro-Sharia law, Jew hater.” This smear and others like it have been propagated by fake news websites and far-right outlets. Many of those fake news websites get their revenue partially from Google. From the November 17 edition of Fox News' Outnumbered:

BERNARD MCGUIRK: One last thing, on [Sen.] Kirsten Gillibrand [(D-NY)], that she -- she's the women's rights champion, she wrote a tribute to Linda Sarsour, a pro-Sharia law, Jew hater who -- so she's a hypocrite.

RACHEL CAMPOS-DUFFY (CO-HOST): That's true. Pro-genital mutilation, pro-female genital mutilation, yes.

MCGUIRK: That's right. And Gillibrand wrote a piece about her, a favorable piece, in Time magazine.
